This laboratory is part of the College of Engineering Common Labs Core. Initiated in Spring of 2017, currently this lab is the testbed lab for the development of methods and proceedures for the common lab enviornement to be used in the Zachary Engineering Education Complex (ZEEC) in the Fall of 2018. The goal of the Common Transport Phenomena Laboratory is to provide a high impact learning environment where theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom is experienced in the laboratory. It is expected that a student completing an experiment or set of experiments will have a stronger understanding of the concepts taught in the theory courses and how these are represented in reality. In addition, the student will be become better engineer by having a practical experience of safety, sensors, data analysis, teamwork, ethics, and others. During this testing phase this lab will initially serve the needs of the MEEN 464 (Heat Transfer Laboratory) and CHEN 433 (Unit Operation II Laboratory) courses and eventually expand to include participation of other common lab courses.
